You can have your Boardium account and everything in it deleted. You do not have to ask anyone: it is a button inside the product, and it takes effect immediately. This page says where the button is, what it removes, and what has to be kept.
Sign in, open Settings, and use "Closing your account" at the foot of the screen.
The deletion happens as you press it. There is no queue, no waiting period and no request for anyone to approve.
If your subscription has lapsed the button is still there, on the screen you land on when you sign in, because an account you can only close while you are paying for it is not really closable.
An owner closing their account deletes the business and everything on its board, for everyone signed in to it. Somebody who was invited onto somebody else's board removes only themselves; what they put on the table stays, because it is the board's record of what was discussed rather than theirs.
Email privacy@boardium.co from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my Boardium data". We confirm within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
The request has to come from the email address registered to the account, because that is the only way we can tell it is really you asking. If you signed in with Google, Apple or Facebook, use the address that provider gave us. If you no longer have access to that mailbox, say so and we will find another way to confirm who you are.
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices and payment records | Typically 7 years | Tax and accounting law requires it. Held by Stripe as well as by us. |
| Web server logs | 90 days from the request | They rotate out on their own and are not linked to your content. |
| Backups | Up to 30 days | Deleted data persists in a backup until that backup expires. It is not restored to live use. |
Removing Boardium from your Google, Apple or Facebook account stops that provider being used to sign in here. It does not delete your Boardium account, and no provider can delete it on your behalf. That has to be requested using the email above.
For Facebook specifically: Settings and Privacy, then Settings, then Apps and Websites, then remove Boardium. Doing that only severs the sign-in link.
Once your data is gone it cannot be recovered, including the meeting history the board relies on. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your subscription from Billing instead and your account stays intact.
